Birth town of the Count of Anjou and the future king of England, Henri II Plantagenet, the town of Le Mans was able to keep it's charming medieval city, located at the entrance of the magnificent gothic cathedral.
The small paved roads and the half-timbered houses of the Plantagenet city contrast with the modern city below by their reflection in a few windowed buildings.
The World known fame of the Sarthe capital is also due to the famous car race called "24h du Mans".
